Hypotheses
ActiveA hypothesis here is a prediction that could turn out to be wrong, stated before the run that tests it. If it cannot be wrong, it belongs in the conceptual framework as an assumption instead.
| ID | Question | Prediction | Tested by | Standing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| HYP-001 | RQ-001 | Placeholder | EXP-001 | untested |
| HYP-002 | RQ-002 | Placeholder | EXP-002 | untested |
| HYP-003 | RQ-003 | Placeholder | None | untested |
Standing
untested, supported, refuted, retired. A refuted hypothesis stays on
the site with its refutation recorded; deleting it destroys the most useful
part of the record.
Ordering rule
The date on a hypothesis page must precede the date on the experiment record that tests it. This is checked by eye at review time, and it is the only thing separating a prediction from a description written afterwards.
